halloween is right around the corner ๐ double chocolate cookie baked in a skillet topped with festive halloween sprinkles & vanilla bean ice cream (inspired by bjโs spooky pizookie) ๐งก

ingredients
double chocolate chip cookie (full recipe credits to martha stewart)
6 tbsps (85g) unsalted butter, room temperature
3/4 cup (150g) light brown sugar
1 large egg (~50g), room temperature
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp kosher salt
about 1/2 cup (80g) semi sweet or dark chocolate chips, divided (60g + 20g)

vanilla bean ice cream
other optional toppings: crushed oreos, chocolate magic shell, etc.

heart skillet or any skillet/baking dish, sprayed with non-stick cooking spray
ice cream scoop/spoon
steps
make the double chocolate chip cookie: preheat oven to 350f
in a large mixing bowl, combine 6 tbsps (85g) unsalted butter & 3/4 cup (150g) light brown sugar and whisk until smooth
add in 1 large egg and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract, whisk until combined
sift in dry ingredients - 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp (3g) baking soda, 1/2 tsp kosher salt . gently mix with a spatula
add in 3/4 of semi sweet or dark chocolate chips (about 60g) into cookie dough and gently mix until incorporated
fill cookie dough in a greased heart skillet - about 2/3 full, do not fill completely ! top with remaining 1/4 (about 20g) of semi sweet or dark chocolate chips
bake for about 15-20 minutes, until puffed and the surface is dry to the touch but still soft & gooey in the center
let skillet cookie cool slightly before serving
add your toppings: top skillet cookie with halloween sprinkles and a couple scoops of ice cream
