  tres leches / three milks mixture

  • 1 cup (240g) heavy cream

  • 12 oz (1 can) evaporated milk

  • 14 oz (1 can) condensed milk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

• whipped cream

  • 1 cup (240g) heavy cream

  • 1/2 tbsp (4g) granulated sugar

• stand mixer with paddle & whisk attachment or hand mixer or whisk

• 8” or 9” cake pan or 9x13” baking dish, greased

• wire rack

steps

1. bake the oreo white cake: bake oreo white cake according to instructions on oreo white cake mix box. let cake cool completely

2. make the tres leches (three milks) mixture: in a jug, combine 1 cup (240g) heavy cream, 12 oz (1 can) evaporated milk, 14 oz (1 can) condensed milk, & 1 tsp vanilla extract - whisk thoroughly. set aside

3. pour tres leches mixture over oreo white cake: once cake has cooled completely, use a fork to gently poke some holes in entire cake

4. gently pour about 80% of tres leches mixture directly onto cake. reserve the remaining 20% to serve later

5. cover soaked cake and chill overnight

6. make the whipped cream: right before serving, in a stand mixer bowl with whisk attachment, beat 1 cup (240g) heavy cream & 1/2 tbsp (4g) granulated sugar until soft medium peaks on medium high speed for about 3-5 minutes. do not overmix!

7. assemble the cookies & cream tres leches cake: place a generous amount of whipped cream over soaked cake and spread evenly. top with mini oreo cookies & crumbles. serve with a side of the remaining tres leches mixture from step 4

8. enjoy!
